The reconfiguration of the existing 1st, 2nd & 4th floors at the Luker Road College Building  in  Southend  on  Sea  provided South East Essex College with new cellular teaching spaces from open plan areas. The new teaching spaces featured new IT facilities whilst the conversion of the 4th floor provided new laboratories for science. On the first floor, new dining facilities were provided along with a new Library.

The project was procured under a 2 stage D&B route with Apex working very closely with the novated design team for the 3 month design & procurement period so that we could commence the works immediately after the students went on vacation at the end of June.

Careful planning and a robust design period meant all the works were successfully completed within a 9 week window opportunity.
