A reconfiguration of South Essex College’s Thurrock Campus has enabled the educational provider to offer innovative technology courses whilst consolidating their construction provision. Works were undertaken across three floors of the campus and included:
- Conversion of the existing ground floor multi skills workshop into a logistics workshop, including a full strip out of existing power and data supplies, replaced with new and complete redecoration.
- Creation of an IOT space including a large reception area, small seminar room, large seminar room and CAD room.
- On the first floor, demolition of 18no brick built tiling bays to create one large workspace for bricklaying.
- Formation of a new carpentry workshop on the second floor, which had previous been located on the ground floor. This included taking down dividing wall between two classrooms to create one large area and re-wiring the workshop to suit the required machine layout.
